Associate Teacher - Automated Manufacturing and Machining

Duties

• Assist the teacher in providing instruction and supervision for high school students preparing for careers in manufacturing.
• Aid the teacher in maintaining student records, including discipline, attendance, and grades.
• Supervise students and manage practical activities under the guidance of the teacher.
• Attend staff meetings and professional development activities as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the classroom teacher or building administrator.

Qualifications

• New York State Teaching Assistant certification must be obtained in collaboration with Human Resources.
• Experience in manufacturing/machining operations is preferred.
• Knowledgeable or willing to learn manufacturing processes and the use of power tools, lathes, and milling machines.
• Proficient in blueprint reading and inspection tools.
• Physically capable of performing all duties required of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to use approved physical intervention techniques when necessary.
• Skills in lifting and/or carrying, standing, stooping, bending, crouching, squatting, kneeling, and reaching.
• Capable of walking, running, and escorting students in various settings.
