About the role
Subcontracts at L3Harris cover a variety of customer segments, including U.S. Federal Government, Commercial, International Governments, International Commercial, and Defense, both domestic and international. This role oversees the overall life-cycle of a subcontract, from initial sourcing and acquisition strategy development through solicitation, negotiation, award, cost and schedule management, subcontractor execution, and closeout steps.
L3Harris Subcontracts manages a diverse landscape of technologies, products, and services for development, production, technical, and professional services requirements. Subcontracts leverage various subcontract types (e.g., fixed-price, cost reimbursement, time & material, labor hour) to best manage risk for both L3Harris and our customers.
Responsibilities
- Develop an understanding of the basic concept, use, and purpose of Subcontracts.
- Prepare purchase order/subcontract compliant packages as required and administer ongoing/awarded subcontracts as proficiency increases.
- Navigate routine tasks with assistance.
- Assist in locating information in systems by running reports or navigating software programs.
- Develop an understanding of Subcontracts' relationship with other functions such as Contracts, Program Management, Finance, Engineering, Quality, Business Development, and others.
- Develop an understanding of procurement systems and tools such as Material Requirements Planning (MRP), Control, Cognos, Quality, Excel, Peoplesoft Financials, Expo, and PDM.
- Participate in proposal activities by completing actions assigned by the Subcontracts Manager or leading proposal efforts.
- Assist with the timely administration of subcontracts, purchase orders, contract modifications, requests for proposals, negotiations, and processing of legal documents.
- Develop an understanding of forecasting and the Supply Chain's influence on the annual operating plan, including orders, sales, profit, and cash flow.
- Help manage subcontractor performance, including scorecards, terms and conditions, and active communication.
Requirements
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations, Engineering, or a related field, or have completed such a degree within the last 12 months.
Pay
The salary range for this role in Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state, and Vermont is $53,500.00 - $99,500.00. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as the final offer may vary based on factors including experience and geographic location.
