About the role
CAA is seeking an Associate based in Los Angeles for a unique and highly visible position within the Strategic Development group. The candidate will report to the Head of Consumer Investing and join a small team of professionals with backgrounds in media & technology, consulting, investment banking, and private equity. This role serves as an in-house advisor to CAA’s executive leadership, focusing on clients' work with consumer brands. The Associate will evaluate opportunities, conduct due diligence, structure deals, and collaborate with peers across the consumer brand ecosystem.
Responsibilities
- Conduct due diligence and execute investment opportunities
- Build financial models, including bottoms-up financial statements and valuation analyses
- Create and present investment, strategy, and deal memos & analysis
- Conduct sector analyses, including market sizing, competitive landscape, and trends
- Perform other critical tasks as directed
Requirements
- 2+ years of work experience in investment banking, private equity, corporate strategy, or similar roles (with direct experience in consumer brand, consumer retail, and/or CPG)
- Interest in the media, entertainment, and sports industries and a passion to learn
- Understanding of and interest in pop-culture and trends
- Strong financial modeling skills for highly quantitative analyses
- Independent thinker with a point of view on the risks and rewards of new investment opportunities and strategic initiatives
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Attention to detail in all deliverables
- Strong work ethic with a high level of responsiveness
- Ability to manage deadlines with a high level of responsibility and autonomy
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, or a related discipline preferred
Location
This role will be based at our office in Los Angeles, California.
Pay
The annual base salary for this position is in the range of $115,000 to $135,000. This position is also eligible for benefits and a discretionary bonus.
