About the role
The Associate Store Manager (ASM) at United Dairy Farmers supports and assumes some of the responsibilities of the Store Manager. In the absence of the Store Manager, the ASM makes decisions regarding the store's operations, focusing on guest service and addressing operational issues.
Responsibilities
- Assigning and monitoring the performance of duties for all store associates, including First Assistant Managers, Assistant Managers, Shift Leaders, and Guest Services Associates.
- Coaching the Hi Five Guest Experience and training associates in all store processes.
- Providing direct counseling to associates and contributing to the Store Manager's decision-making process for counseling and disciplining associates.
- Screening and interviewing applicants.
- Training current and new associates.
- Assuming the duties and assignments of the Store Manager, including ordering, reviewing weekly delivery reports, transferring products, and completing required paperwork.
- Ensuring the delivery of an outstanding guest experience by greeting guests warmly, preparing dipsides, managing the POS system, and maintaining store cleanliness.
- Maintaining security by controlling cash levels, monitoring store and parking lot activity, and reviewing video footage as needed.
- Ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the store by keeping shelves stocked, ensuring refrigeration equipment is functioning properly, and maintaining a clean environment.
- Accurately completing time records and the Hi Five Readiness Planner.
Requirements
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and written.
- Ability to see, hear, and understand spoken English well enough to communicate with customers and operate store equipment.
- Ability to operate store equipment, including POS terminals, gas consoles, and price books.
- Ability to prepare and serve dipsides using supplies in the dip cabinets.
- Ability to handle various forms of payment and make change.
- Ability to recognize and count numbers accurately.
- Ability to lift and move merchandise, and maintain cleanliness in the store and parking lot.
- Ability to work in a variety of temperature conditions.
- Leadership and management skills to lead the store's operations.
