Who We Are: The Research & AI Librarian partners with researchers to advance discovery through expert research support, artificial intelligence, research data management, and bibliometric analysis. The position evaluates and implements emerging technologies, develops responsible AI guidance and training, supports scholarly communication and research impact assessment, and delivers innovative services that strengthen knowledge discovery, data stewardship, and research excellence. Objectives of this Role: Partner with researchers to accelerate discovery by providing advanced research support, expert literature searching, and AI-enabled research services throughout the research lifecycle. Lead the evaluation, implementation, and responsible use of artificial intelligence technologies that improve knowledge discovery, research efficiency, and decision-making. Advance institutional research excellence through research data management, data stewardship, and services that support compliance, reproducibility, and long-term access to research outputs. Develop and deliver bibliometric and research impact analyses that inform strategic planning, demonstrate organizational research outcomes, and strengthen competitiveness for funding and collaboration. Identify, develop, and implement innovative research and knowledge management services that enhance scholarly communication, increase visibility of institutional expertise, and position the organization at the forefront of emerging research practices. Daily and Monthly Responsibilities: Provide advanced research support, including literature searching, systematic and evidence reviews, research consultations, and researcher training across a variety of applied science disciplines. Evaluate, implement, and support artificial intelligence and emerging research technologies; develop guidance, training, and best practices for their responsible use in research. Develop and deliver research impact, bibliometric, and data services, including research data management support, data stewardship guidance, and analysis that informs institutional decision-making and demonstrates research outcomes. Develop, maintain, and enhance research support resources, workflows, and knowledge management tools to improve access to information, research productivity, and scholarly communication. Assist with daily library operations and services as needed, including reference support, collection and resource management, outreach, and other departmental initiatives to ensure effective library operations. Requirements: Requires a Bachelors or a Masters degree in Library Science, Information Science, Information Systems, Information Management or directly related degree field with related experience. 1 years: Experience conducting advanced literature searches, systematic reviews, or evidence synthesis using scholarly databases and research methodologies. 1 years: Experience developing and delivering training, consultations, or instructional programs for researchers, faculty, or technical staff. A valid/clear driver's license is required. Special Requirements: Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
