About the Role

As an Associate Site Contract Specialist, you’ll assist in the preparation, negotiation, and finalization of contracts with investigative sites while building effective relationships with internal functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, negotiate, and finalize amendments and budgets with study sites in accordance with local/accepted processes.
  • Negotiate within approved parameters for investigator grant budgets, contractual terms, and conditions, following client and established processes and escalation routes.
  • Ensure compliance with negotiation parameters, authority approval, contractual processes, and client expectations.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to align site startup activities with contractual timelines and critical path for site activation.
  • Achieve target cycle times for site activations.
  • Follow guidelines for escalating out-of-parameter issues.
  • Complete tracking and reporting requirements and assist other specialists as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent formal academic/vocational qualification.
  • 0–2 years of relevant experience or a combination of education, training, and directly related experience.

Skills

  • Basic understanding of clinical trial agreements and investigator grant negotiation principles.
  • General knowledge of business and financial principles related to service agreements.
  • Effective communication skills (verbal and written) in English and the local language.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical/decision-based thinking.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Working knowledge of PPD SOPs and WPDs.
  • Ability to prioritize logically and review contractual risks/issues.
  • Proficiency with automated systems and computerized applications.
  • Customer-focused communication, problem-solving, and collaboration.

Environmental Conditions

  • Ability to work in an upright and/or stationary position for 6–8 hours per day.
  • Repetitive hand movements, including fast, simple, repeated motions of fingers, hands, and wrists.
  • Frequent mobility, occasional crouching, stooping, bending, and twisting of the upper body and neck.
  • Light to moderate lifting (15–20 lbs), such as luggage or a laptop.
  • Ability to use various computer software, both in-house and off-the-shelf.
  • Effective communication of information and ideas, both verbally and in writing.
  • Frequent interaction with diverse groups to obtain or relay information.
  • Ability to perform under stress, multitask, and handle variable tasks with little predictability.
  • Regular and consistent attendance.
