About the Secondary Investment Team
The Secondary Investment Team at Adams Street consists of 19 professionals globally. The team has closed over 300 secondary transactions, including LP-led and GP-led deals, and manages over $8 billion in assets. Currently investing its eighth dedicated secondary fund alongside capital from other Adams Street funds and separately managed accounts, the team leverages the firm’s extensive private markets knowledge and disciplined investment approach to deliver long-term outperformance relative to industry benchmarks.
Responsibilities
- Perform quantitative analysis, including LBO, fund, and transaction modeling.
- Conduct market and company research.
- Participate in due diligence calls with GPs, management, and sellers.
- Assist in all aspects of the transaction, including deal selection, pricing analysis, and execution.
- Support transaction documentation and presentations to the investment committee.
- Develop and maintain proprietary deal and market intelligence.
- Perform deal monitoring analysis.
- Support strategic team and firm initiatives.
This deal-oriented role offers high responsibility and exposure to private markets subclasses, including buyout, venture capital, and credit funds across developed and emerging markets. The position is based in either Chicago or New York.
Requirements
- Graduated from a top-tier undergraduate university.
- 2-3 years of work experience in private equity or investment banking, with preference for M&A and LBO transaction experience.
- Strong analytical, modeling, organizational, and writing skills.
- Professional presence with relationship and communication skills to interact effectively with internal and external parties.
- Highly motivated, self-starter with the ability to work independently within a team context.

Pay
NYC Pay Range: $130,000—$150,000 USD
Illinois Pay Transparency: $130,000—$150,000 USD
The listed salary range does not include bonus or incentive compensation.
