About the role
Pathway is seeking an Associate to join its growing secondaries investment team. The secondaries platform invests in LP-led and GP-led secondaries transactions and manages liquidity via the secondaries market for clients and investors.
Responsibilities
- Assist in initial pre-screening of new secondaries investment opportunities
- Support the investment process by leading various analyses and due diligence processes for investment opportunities, including detailed financial modeling
- Cook with general partners, secondary bankers, third-party consultants, Pathway primary investment teams, and select clients to support due diligence and manage project timelines
- Prepare comprehensive investment memos and present recommendations to Pathway’s secondaries investment committee and select clients
- Aid in the secondaries closing process, including preparing and reviewing schedules in purchase and sale agreements, coordinating with Pathway’s investment closing team to prepare for wire transfers, and working with Pathway’s legal and monitoring teams to coordinate closing and ongoing monitoring activities in Pathway’s proprietary databases
- Oversee, train, and mentor investment analysts to ensure the quality of work and due diligence timeliness
- Aid Pathway’s marketing and distribution team with secondaries-related fundraising materials, including PowerPoint slides, performance and deal-specific data, and update handouts
Qualifications
- 1-3 years of private equity, investment banking, valuation, or consulting experience
- Undergraduate degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration preferred
- Significant experience in investment underwriting, modeling, and valuation analysis preferred
- Extensive knowledge of the private equity asset class, including equity and debt capital markets
- Strong writing, presentation, and research skills
- Ability to work efficiently, meet deadlines, and coordinate effectively with teams
- Expertise in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word is required
