Associate Attorney

About the role

The associate attorney will work on high-impact environmental litigation representing primarily states, tribes, and local governments. The team is at the forefront of litigation to hold polluters accountable for damages inflicted on communities.

Responsibilities

• Investigating and analyzing legal claims
• Engaging in all facets of discovery
• Interviewing fact witnesses and scientific experts
• Drafting motions, briefs, and other pleadings
• Appearing and arguing in state and federal court
• Preparing for and trying cases

Requirements

• Demonstrated analytical and writing skills
• Strong communication skills
• A growth mindset
• Attention to detail
• Teamwork

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of litigation or clerkship experience preferred
• Legal degree from an accredited law school
• Admission to practice law in at least one state

Skills

• Excellent research and writing skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Experience with legal research databases and case management systems
