About the role

The Senior Scientist will join the bioanalysis team to support nonclinical studies for Orna Therapeutics' diverse programs. The role is 100% lab-based and involves developing and implementing ligand binding assays (LBA) and PCR assays, performing sample testing, and presenting results to the pre-clinical team.

Responsibilities

  • Tissue processing from mice, rat, and NHP in vivo studies for RNA and protein extraction.
  • Independently implement LBA and qPCR to measure large molecules such as protein and RNA from plasma and tissues samples.
  • Perform method development and troubleshooting on LBA and qPCR-based assays with guidance.
  • Provide high-quality bioanalytical support focusing on PK, TK, and PD assessments.
  • Deliver and present experimental results to the pre-clinical team.
  • Maintain detailed experimental protocols and electronic laboratory notebooks.

Requirements

  • BS with 0-4+ years of related industrial or academia experience, or MS with 0-2+ years of related industrial or academia experience in biology, chemistry, pharmaceutical science, or related fields.
  • Major in biology, chemistry, pharmaceutical science or related fields.
  • Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Qualifications

  • Experience and knowledge in RT-QPCR, ddPCR, bDNA, and Ligand binding assay.
  • Experience with Ligand binding assays on Luminex and MSD platforms.
  • Experience in tissue sample processing is a plus.

Skills & Preferences

  • Basic understanding of data analysis using Excel and GraphPad Prism.
