Associate Sales Representative

About the Role
The Associate Sales Representative for Process Analytics is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with Hamilton process sensor accounts. This role involves managing existing customers and prospecting for new customers to expand the customer base and meet or exceed yearly growth targets. Success requires identifying customer needs and positioning the appropriate product to fill that need. This is a technical sales role requiring an understanding of analytical sensors and their application in bioprocesses. The ideal candidate would reside in the Chicago, IL area.
Responsibilities
- Establish a working relationship with existing customers to expand account penetration with all Hamilton sensor products.
- Prospect for new leads by attending tradeshows, social networking, and cold calling.
- Develop a business plan and sales strategy for the assigned territory to ensure attainment of company sales targets.
- Perform a monthly review with sales management and adjust sales activities to optimize growth.
- Utilize the CRM to facilitate the sales process and communicate the sales pipeline.
- Initiate, identify, and coordinate action plans to penetrate new customers in the territory.
- Coordinate customer visits, demo follow-ups, or lunch and learns to facilitate efficient sales trips.
- Assist the team in the development and implementation of marketing plans and objectives, as needed.
- Maintain accurate records and report feedback from the field to senior management.
- Control expenses and manage time to meet budget guidelines and productivity.
- Travel 75% of the time, including 25% overnight travel.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Strong leadership skills.
- Demonstrated track record of driving sales.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to travel at least 75% of the time with no restrictions.
- Superior time management skills and the ability to complete tasks on time and from the road.
- Understanding of the markets where Hamilton competes, including biopharmaceutical, food and beverage, chemical processing, etc.
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree, preferably in the sciences or engineering, from an accredited not-for-profit institution or equivalent experience is required. At least one year of sales experience in the Life Science market is preferred.
