About the Role
BasePoint is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Associate to join the Investor Relations and Capital Formation Team. This role will have dual functionality – within the capital markets business (BasePoint Capital LLC) and investment advisory business (BasePoint Advisors LLC) – while reporting to the Global Head of Capital Markets of BasePoint Capital and President of BasePoint Advisors.
The firm has grown ~$1B annually since 2020, with significant ongoing tailwinds to this asset class. This team member will serve as a key contact for investors and participants, helping to manage the onboarding lifecycle, maintaining our investor data infrastructure, and supporting capital formation activities.
Essential Responsibilities & Duties
- Manage onboarding process for both investors and participants (KYC/AML vetting, document collection, distribution of closing documents)
- Administer and maintain the investor CRM: uploading documents and updating records, ensuring data integrity across all investor files, track contributions and commitments, continuously improve CRM system
- Report to key participants on a monthly and/or quarterly basis
- Oversee the loan participation process and coordinate across teams (legal, tax, operations, etc.) to ensure accurate and timely execution
- Assist in preparing pitch materials and updating the firm’s general marketing / diligence materials
- Complete RFP and DDQ requests for current and prospective LPs, coordinating across the firm as needed
- Identify new investor prospects and assist with outreach
- Support strategic initiatives, ad-hoc projects, and other analyses as needed
- Direct loan advisory committee process: interface with committee members, draft memos
- Coordinate trade execution process
- Product specialist support
Qualifications
- Minimum experience of 1-3 years in investor relations, capital markets, investment banking, financial services, or a related field
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint; experience with CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar) strongly preferred
- Demonstrated experience managing investor or client documents and data with a high degree of accuracy
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; comfortable interfacing directly with sophisticated institutional investors and across the firm
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with strong attention to detail
