About the role
The Associate/Employee Relations Manager supports Bon Secours Mercy Health Toledo market's positive associate relations strategy. Key responsibilities include investigating associate open door concerns, consulting with cross-functional partners, interpreting company policies, addressing associate performance issues, counseling management, and supporting compliance efforts.
Responsibilities
- Assumes lead investigative role for complex and high-risk issues.
- Handles emotionally charged issues with composure, maintaining objectivity and confidentiality.
- Manages disciplinary actions and terminations through grievance procedures and Ministry policy administration.
- Collaborates with stakeholders to resolve conflicts and improve workplace dynamics.
- Interprets and applies relevant laws and regulations, providing guidance on labor and employment matters.
- Prepares detailed responses and exhibits for legal proceedings such as EEOC or state-based commissions.
- Supports labor relations functions, including grievance responses, arbitration, and collective bargaining.
- Consults with managers on resolving issues, applying HR policies, and reducing risk.
- Maintains confidentiality and confidentiality of sensitive information.
Requirements
- Minimum 4-year degree in Human Resources or related field.
- Preferred graduate degree in Human Resources.
- Minimum 5-7 years of HR experience, including recent employee relations investigations.
- Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Reasonable problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
- Knowledge of Federal and State Employment Law.
