Associate Registrar
About the role
The Registrar's Office provides support services to students, faculty, staff and other constituents in the areas of academic advising support programs, course scheduling, enrollment, degree verification, transfer articulation, test credit, athletic certification and maintenance of student academic records, as well as handles state and federal reporting.

Responsibilities
- Manages multiple functional areas within the Office of the Registrar, mentors staff and provides opportunities for individual development and growth while ensuring the business needs of the unit are met.
- Sets goals and creates action plans to realize efficiencies and quality service.
- Provides supervision and direction for continuous improvement and continuity of operations, mandated initiatives, procedures and policies, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all federal, state, and institutional regulations.
- Provides ongoing support for programs and systems that facilitate enrollment and retention.
- Responsible for the oversight of staff in assigned areas, including hiring, training, evaluation, coaching, and development of professional and supervisor level staff.
- Plays a key role in managing the day-to-day operations of the Registrar's Office, including overseeing the accuracy and integrity of academic and student data, and compliance with a range of institutional, state, and federal regulations.
- Engages with leadership across the university related to business processes and practices with academic and student data that impact enrollment and retention.
- Serves as the escalation point for complex issues or problems with operational functions or services, and implements proactive solutions.
- Documents core processes for operational efficiency, monitors compliance, risk management, and ongoing effectiveness of specific functional operations to recommend and implement organizational and procedural changes.
- Assists the University Registrar in prioritizing and implementing multiple competing projects and manages staff resources to complete departmental responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner.
- Represents the University Registrar as an expert on registration, records, academic scheduling and support, and certification on a variety of university committees as requested.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and five or more years of progressively responsible experience in academic administration or a related field; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Knowledge of hiring, developing, supervising, and evaluating staff.

Qualifications
- Masters Degree and a minimum of 6 years of increasing responsibility in higher education, particularly in a Registrar or Enrollment Management Office.
- Experience with higher education systems.
