About the Role
The Quantitative Developer will help with the implementation of efficiency-improving solutions for the assessment of residential real estate equity and debt investments.
Responsibilities
- Analyzing investment data, making detailed inferences or attributions
- Assessing complex financial models for opportunities to make efficiency improvements
- Using the latest technology tools to improve the efficiency and/or reduce the complexity of financial workflows
- Translating pieces of Excel models into C# code for usage on a website application
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years experience
- Strong background and familiarity with at least one type of real estate equity and/or debt investment, such as REITs, CMBS, RMBS, and/or whole loan trading
- Three main pillars of professional skill:
- Writing code in an object-oriented coding language
- Manipulating various types of database data using SQL
- Working with complex Excel workbooks
- Main object-oriented coding language used in this position is C#, however experience with Java/C++/Python and a willingness to learn C# is acceptable
- Database data is primarily housed within Microsoft SQL databases, though some data is found in Snowflake data warehouses. Being a strong user of either T-SQL, Oracle SQL, or Snowflake SQL is required, though the candidate must be willing to primarily use Microsoft T-SQL
Qualifications
- A college degree or higher in a STEM field (Master’s degrees and PhD-holders welcome but not required)
- Candidates with a combination of strong technology skills and deep finance knowledge
- Any experience with web development would be favored but is not required
Pay
Base Compensation Range: $110,000.00 to $140,000.00 annually. This represents the presently-anticipated low and high end of the Company’s base compensation range for this position. Actual base compensation range may vary based on various factors, including but not limited to location and experience.
This job is also eligible for discretionary bonus and incentive compensation on an annual basis.
