About the role

Perform Quality Assurance functions, focusing on failure prevention and quality assurance through audits and design to ensure customer satisfaction. Responsible for supervising assigned employees and tasks engaged in reviewing product and systems quality. Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted, or changed at management's discretion.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate product deficiencies on customer-returned or in-plant parts to determine failure mechanisms and implement corrective action.
  • Interpret drawing requirements and prepare receiving inspection instruction sheets to minimize functional problems during assembly and in service.
  • Evaluate and correct manufacturing or customer problems.
  • Create inspection plans as required by customer or regulatory agencies.
  • Review Change Request Engineering Orders (CREO).
  • Perform internal and external Quality Assurance audits.
  • Analyze internal and external quality problems.
  • Supervise and maintain quality records and procedures within the department.
  • Evaluate discrepant product for proper disposition and corrective action requirements.
  • Perform additional duties such as training, administration, and housekeeping as required.
  • Ensure the quality, quantity, and timeliness of the product or service provided, adhering to established policies, practices, and procedures in a safe and cooperative manner.

Qualifications

  • Education:
    • Required: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
    • Preferred: B.S. in an Engineering-related technical discipline
  • Experience:
    • Required: 1 year of Engineering experience or role-related experience
    • Preferred: 3 years of Engineering experience or role-related experience
  • Special Knowledge/Skills:
    • Required: Demonstrated problem-solving skills; Root Cause Corrective Action processing; critical and analytical thinking. Proficiency in reading engineering blueprints and technical manuals. Objective communication; detailed writing of audit and inspection reports. Conflict resolution and negotiation; collaboration across departments and multi-functional groups.
    • Preferred: 8D methodology, QRQC experience, FAA FAR familiarization, AS9100 audit training.
