Associate QA Specialist
About the role
Quality Assurance personnel develop policies, procedures, and methods to evaluate and improve the quality of products, materials, components and/or operations. They ensure products, services, or processes meet established quality standards and customer requirements. They develop, assure, and maintain the quality of products and processes, including standard procedures, and quality audits/reviews.
Responsibilities
- Under close supervision, work involves monitoring, inspecting, analyzing, and investigating electrical, electro-mechanical, and nuclear components, subassemblies, and assemblies associated with the manufacture of nuclear weapons and other non-nuclear components as applicable.
- Performs basic set up, alignment, preventative maintenance, and/or calibration of conventional and machine-specific inspection tools and/or equipment.
- Assists in performing quality assurance reviews to ensure all product specifications are met during fabrication (e.g., size, shape, etc.).
- Works closely with product acceptance to implement required changes based on verification results.
- Aids in investigating quality and/or manufacturing nonconformances and implement corrective actions appropriate for the identified deficiencies.
- Produces legible, correct, and accurate records, inspections, and analysis and applies good judgment in the performance of assigned tasks.
- Precisely follows prescribed safety procedures in the handling of explosive, toxic, flammable, or otherwise hazardous materials.
- May work with professional staff to establish new and/or improved procedures.
Requirements
- HS diploma/GED equivalencies
- Q clearance (or ability to obtain)
