Associate Project Manager, Facilities Services
About the role
This position is based out of our San Jose, CA office.
Responsibilities
- Coordinates field staff and assists project managers in managing all construction processes to ensure project quality, schedule, cost control, safety and customer satisfaction objectives are met or exceeded, in alignment with all Company policies, procedures, key objectives and regulations.
- Assembles, organizes, and maintains all documentation needed for timely project commissioning and closeout activities.
- Reviews plans and specifications to understand project scope and milestones.
- Prepares drawings and sketches, change orders, estimates, RFIs, material and labor cost codes, etc. to support construction project work.
- Stays informed of new electrical codes, materials, technologies, techniques, and practices.
- Aids project managers with budget tracking, customer billing, labor estimates, scheduling, job cost reviews, purchase orders, project status reports, and tracking of inspections, testing, and reporting.
- Participates in project status meetings and assists in developing meeting minutes for distribution.
- Maintains accurate documentation of all plans, submittal logs, record drawings and project logs, and assures that all are received, reviewed, returned, and disseminated to the appropriate parties promptly.
- Ensures submittals are thoroughly and accurately reviewed for content and conformance with the construction documents. Includes specification logs, RFIs, ASIs, change orders, inspections, and testing.
- Coordinates preconstruction activities as needed, such as construction planning and design, interpretation of design and drawings, projections, preparation of takeoffs, application of construction methods and bid packages.
- Researches and recommends resolutions to drawing interpretation and other problems, conflicts and errors discovered.
- Assists with constructability reviews and value engineering functions.
- Conducts jobsite inspections of first work in place to assure accurate placement and conformance with the contract documents and the Company’s project quality assurance standards.
- Takes weekly job site photographs capturing the construction progress and records.
- Builds effective relationships with customers, foremen, design team, specialty contractors, suppliers and user groups that reflect and support the Company’s core values and meet or exceed the customer’s expectations.
- Works with vendors and distributors on availability and pricing of materials, completion of quotes and other necessary procedure details.
Requirements
- Construction or project management experience, with preferred familiarity in computerized estimating systems such as Bluebeam and Procore.
- Can work autonomously and creatively solve problems.
- Knowledge of construction methods and materials, with experience in costing, scheduling and estimating.
Qualifications
- Associate degree or equivalent work experience in project management, business administration, construction management or a related field.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Minimum 2-5 years of construction and/or project management experience.
- Familiarity with computerized estimating systems preferred.
- Knowledge of construction methods and materials, costing, scheduling, and estimating and general industry safety standards, procedures and regulations preferred.
- Project management training, experience, and skills.
- Understanding of the project life cycle.
- Skills to read, interpret and understand electrical contracts, plans, drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
- Demonstrated strong organizational, detail orientation, customer focus and customer communication skills.
- Effective independent problem solving, collaboration, interpersonal and presentation skills.

Pay
$82,800-$121,300 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
