About the role
A growing environmental consultancy is expanding its ecology and environmental management team and is seeking a confident, organised, and ambitious Associate Project Manager to help deliver a diverse portfolio of projects across the UK and Ireland.
This is a hands-on role with real variety: part project leadership, part client interface, part field coordination - ideal for someone ready to step up into a more senior delivery position within a fast-moving environmental practice.
Responsibilities
- Act as a main point of contact for assigned clients and manage ongoing project relationships
- Cook up and oversee ecological field teams and survey programmes
- Manage project workflows, scheduling, and multi-disciplinary delivery
- Support budget tracking, commercial oversight, and cost-effective project execution
- Review and contribute to technical reporting outputs
- Aid in preparing bids and tenders, ensuring quality and competitiveness
- Mentor and support junior staff, encouraging best practice and development
- Identify improvements in project delivery, efficiency, and innovation
- Adapt quickly to changing priorities and deadlines in a dynamic environment
Requirements
- Degree-level qualification in environmental science, ecology, project management, or related field
- Experience in consultancy-based project management (environmental/ecology preferred)
- Strong organisational and communication skills, with confident report writing
- Comfortable managing workloads, deadlines, and stakeholder expectations
- Experience mentoring or supervising staff is highly desirable
- Professional membership (or working towards it) advantageous
- Full UK/Ireland driving licence and willingness to travel
