About the role
As an Associate Project Manager (APM) in the Electrification and Automation (EA) business unit, you will support the Project Management team for the successful execution of projects, from initiation through final closeout. This role focuses on products such as medium voltage switchgear, low voltage switchgears, transformers, and e-houses. Hybrid work in the Wendell, NC area is preferred, and relocation assistance can be discussed.
Responsibilities
- Support the project manager during all phases of the project, including milestone deliverables, documentation, case management, and financial aspects.
- Drive support with the Customer Care team to create use cases ensuring project acceptance and customer satisfaction.
- Develop and deliver monthly status reports, customer progress reports, change proposals, and presentations to internal and external stakeholders.
- Drive final customer acceptance milestones, including completion of documentation, gear acceptance, and financial closeout requirements.
- Coordinate project schedules with site teams and identify time-sensitive needs.
- Manage factory ship short cases and subsequent resolutions with the global care team.
- Track resources and project progress, participate in customer meetings, and capture notes throughout the project lifecycle.
- Capture punch lists from site commissioning and drive closure through coordination with field service technicians, customer care, project managers, factory personnel, and vendors.
- Document project events impacting acceptance schedules, scope, or efficiency, and propose solutions to minimize schedule and cost impacts.
- Orient project field service technicians by providing necessary documentation, including scope of work, drawings, specifications, and contacts.
- Schedule project-specific commissioning resources and ensure field service personnel review documentation before site visits.
- Expedite the return of project-specific mark-ups during development.
- Support completion of project-specific close-out documentation and drive all aspects of the close milestone to achieve timely and clean project quality gates.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 1+ years of project management or engineering internship experience.
- 1+ years of experience in the power distribution industry, specifically reading and understanding basic electrical drawings and customer specifications.
- 20% travel required (national and international).
- PMP certification required within 1 year of employment.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business Administration.
- 1+ years of experience managing medium voltage/high voltage projects and portfolios.
- Ability to work in a team environment providing dedicated customer support.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project.
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
- PMP certification.
Pay
$61,547 – $105,509
