About the role
The Associate Project Manager will be embedded within an assigned pillar, which may include an Agile Release Train (Product) as a Scrum Master, Software Professional Services (SPS/Hybrid), or Corporate Programs. They will support the planning, coordination, and execution of projects.
Responsibilities
- Support the planning, estimation, scoping, tracking, and delivery of project solutions under the guidance of a Project Manager or senior practitioner.
- Aid in defining project scope, objectives, timelines, milestones, and resource needs while contributing to overall project plans.
- Maintain RAID logs and support project reporting, status updates, and administrative activities to keep delivery organized and on track.
- Ensure alignment with established GPMO frameworks, delivery standards, and best practices, including quality, transparency, and execution consistency.
- Apply knowledge of the application lifecycle and project delivery methodologies, including PMI, Lean-Agile, Scrum, and Kanban practices.
- Participate in SAFe events and ceremonies within product-focused teams, building practical experience with agile delivery approaches.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to coordinate tasks, monitor progress, facilitate meetings, and escalate risks or issues as needed.
- Build effective working relationships with internal teams, external partners, and third-party personnel while actively pursuing professional development in project management and lean-agile methodologies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required.
- Formal training in Lean-Agile project management or Scaled Agile methodology is a plus (e.g., CSM, PSM, SAFe).
- 1+ years’ experience in a project management or delivery support role; PMI or Lean-Agile methodology experience including Scrum and Kanban is a plus.
- Experience with the Software Development Lifecycle.
- Exposure to one or more GPMO pillar environments (product/ART delivery, professional services, or corporate programs) is advantageous.
- Experience in the publishing or life sciences industry preferred.
- Proficiency with project management and collaboration tools (e.g., Jira, Smartsheet, MS 365, Google Workspace, retro tooling).
- Good presentation and written communication skills and analytical and interpersonal skills.
Benefits
The position offers a hybrid schedule, with 1-2 days a week working at the company's Danvers, MA headquarters. Compensation range is $75,000 - $90,000, with performance bonuses eligible. The actual salary offer will be based on job-related education, training, licensure, certifications, related experience, and other related factors.
