About the role

Ampacity, LLC is seeking an Associate Project Manager (APM) to support our continued growth in commercial and utility-scale solar construction. This is an entry-level role for a candidate who is passionate about renewable energy and eager to grow within a company known for its strong culture and commitment to work/life balance.

Responsibilities

  • Coincide across multiple concurrent projects by liaising with Project Managers, subcontractors, and key stakeholders to keep timelines, objectives, and deliverables on track.
  • Partner with the operations team to proactively troubleshoot issues and respond to unforeseen challenges before they impact project milestones.
  • Engage with engineers, architects, and construction personnel to support effective project planning and execution, including managing subcontractor recommendations and onboarding.
  • Work closely with Supply Chain to monitor material availability and flag potential procurement risks early.
  • Support budget development, scheduling preparation, and contract reviews in collaboration with senior Project Managers.
  • Ensure adherence to safety regulations across all assigned project sites and escalate concerns promptly.
  • Maintain accurate project records, databases, and documentation to support reporting and decision-making.
  • Provide regular progress updates to management and Project Managers, surfacing risks and recommending solutions as needed.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of project management experience, preferably in solar or renewable energy construction.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships across internal teams, clients, and field personnel.
  • Proven ability to lead, delegate, and hold stakeholders accountable in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills, with the ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Working knowledge of project planning, scheduling, and budgeting within a construction context.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, drawings, and specifications related to solar construction.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a formal project management certification program preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of solar construction practices and standards.

Skills

  • Project Management Certification (PMP, Prince2, etc.)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with project planning, scheduling, and budgeting tools
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, drawings, and specifications related to solar construction

Pay

The anticipated compensation for this position is USD $90,000.00/Yr. - USD $100,000.00/Yr. depending on experience and qualifications.

Schedule

This is a field-based position requiring 100% travel to project sites.
