Associate Project Management Specialist

About the role

This role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, supporting Spirit’s Commercial Business Units. Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures, including fuselages, pylons, nacelles, and wing components, with a focus on innovative composite and aluminum manufacturing solutions. You will play a key role within the company's largest interdisciplinary commercial program, contributing to high-impact work in a fast-paced, highly-regulated manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between program management, planning, project team, and Operations leadership.
• Reviews status of projects and budgets, manages schedules, and prepares status reports.
• Assesses production issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer goals and objectives.
• Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, customer, and other stakeholders.
• Assists in training, mentoring, and developing team members as well as suggesting new strategies or concepts.
• Balances multiple projects simultaneously (coordination, status, and performance to plan).
• Provides cross-functional coordination and leadership to achieve project goals.
• Performs risk assessment and mitigation.
• Fosters business partnerships with internal customers and functional organizations.

Requirements

• 3+ years of related experience in a highly-regulated, relevant manufacturing environment.
• Strong computer skills with Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree OR equivalent experience.
• PMP or other PMI Certification.
• Individual project management and tracking as part of a larger portfolio.
• Familiarity with Smartsheet.
• Ability to create and present in-depth presentations to executive-level management.
• Schedule development appropriate to project scope.
• Technical background to work with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to integrate large multi-year projects and small near-term projects.
• Business acumen to quantify implications of projects and coordinate with Finance on tracking to plan.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with executive leaders.
• Ability to manage with influence and provide leadership across multiple teams simultaneously.
• Experience with SAP, MES, and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
• Preferred knowledge of manufacturing environment, lean processing, and industrial engineering concepts.

Pay

• Summary pay range: $60,200 - $92,300 (based on candidate experience, qualifications, market, and business considerations).
• Kansas Tax Credit: Eligible for a $5,000 state of Kansas Aviation tax credit for up to five years.
