• Quality of care.
• Patient volumes.

• Sigificant participation on National Jewish and/or departmental committees and administration.
• Implementation of innovative clinical programs.

Evidence of Excellence in Scholarly Activities

• Minimum of 20 peer-reviewed publications.
• Based on outstanding, original, and innovative research findings and/or important clinical applications of basic science.
• Review of the six most important first author/senior author publications for evidence of original and significant scholarship.
• Development and dissemination of intellectual properties.

Established Track Record in Funding an Independent Research Program

• Demonstrated ability to renew competitive funding for the research program after completion of the first grant cycle.
• Salary or career development awards.
• Competitive funding for the laboratory program.

Contributions to Build the Center's Overall Research Program

• Development/management of core research facilities.
• Funding a component of a program project grant or its equivalent.

Establishment of a National Reputation as a Researcher

• Demonstrated by scholarship, publications, participation in NIH study sections and equivalent review groups.
