About the role

The Rochester campuses of Bryant & Stratton College are seeking an Associate Professor to teach Math lecture courses.

Responsibilities

• Provide 15 to 21 instructional contact hours per week.
• Provide instruction focused on teaching and learning using evidence-based best practices to ensure students meet all course outcomes and classroom objectives.
• Plan and facilitate instruction consistent with the Community of Inquiry Framework and the Seven Principles for Good Practice.
• Ensure appropriate course-level rigor in class instruction and assessment methodologies through the development and delivery of course content planning documents, including supplemental syllabi, lesson plans, and assessments.
• Integrate and assess the College’s four lifelong learning competencies in each course taught.
• Establish and maintain a classroom climate consistent with College values, education promise, and personalized promise.
• Model professional practice and standards in the classroom, lab, and clinical sites.
• Maintain one Skills Assistance contact hour per week for every four instructional hours to support teaching and learning, including publishing a schedule each term and promoting student attendance.
• Participate in professional development activities.
• Maintain current knowledge of the teaching discipline through active participation in professional organizations, scholarly resources, and peer dialogue.
• Participate in program, campus, market, and system faculty development opportunities, including faculty meetings.
• Document professional development and learning.
• Fulfill administrative duties, including term paperwork, administrative hours as determined by the Program Director and Dean, and adherence to operational policies.
• Participate in curriculum monitoring and development by providing feedback to the Program Director and/or system-level curriculum team.
• Attend required College functions, including graduation and special activities.
• Support recruitment, retention, and graduation goals by monitoring and assessing classroom and program retention, and meeting with program advisors to discuss student performance.
• Participate in department committee meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Math or a Math-related field.
• Teaching experience with diverse adults, preferably within community college, career college, or undergraduate environments.
• Ability to meet deadlines and contribute to curriculum development.
• Professional experience in the science, healthcare, or rehabilitation fields.
• Must be available for weekday classes.

Pay

$50,000 annual salary. Please note that the compensation information is a good-faith estimate of base pay. The selected candidate’s actual base pay will consider factors including skill sets, experience, training, licensure, and certifications.
