About the role
The Department of Occupational Therapy at The University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) seeks to foster a community of educators, scholars, evidence-based practitioners, and leaders in the profession of occupational therapy. The department has been approved to offer an Additional Location hybrid education program at Laredo, TX.
Responsibilities
- Teaching and advising students in the entry-level OTD curriculum.
- Contributing to curriculum development and program assessment.
- Engaging in scholarship and professional service activities.
- Participating in departmental, school, and university committees.
- Supporting student success, fieldwork, and capstone experiences.
- Participating in faculty practice opportunities as applicable.
Requirements
- Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) or other doctoral degree in occupational therapy or a related discipline (e.g., PhD, DHSc, DSc).
- Licensed Occupational Therapist, or eligible for licensure, in the State of Texas.
- Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaborative skills.
Qualifications
- Expertise in one or more of the following areas: Adult Rehabilitation, Neurologic Rehabilitation, Cognitive Rehabilitation, Mental Health, Geriatrics, Research Methods, Occupational Therapy Theory and Foundations.
- Experience teaching in an ACOTE-accredited occupational therapy program.
- Experience with curriculum development, instructional design, or hybrid/online education.
- Experience with developing a hybrid curriculum.
Skills
- Experience with hybrid or technology-enhanced teaching is desirable.
Pay
Salary is commensurate with experience.
