Associate Professor, Academic Clinician Track, and Director, Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery, in the Department of Neurosurgery
About the role
The Department of Neurosurgery at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Associate Professor position in the non-tenure academic clinician track. Expertise is required in the specific area of complex spine surgery with specialization in minimally invasive spine surgery. Candidates for this position must demonstrate professional and clinical focus in minimally invasive spine surgery. Minimally invasive spine surgery includes and is not limited to expertise in endoscopic, robotic, and minimal access approaches.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrated excellence in the areas of clinical care and education.
- Serve as the Director of Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery, in the Department of Neurosurgery.
- Develop an internationally recognized program in minimally invasive spine surgery.
- Optimize care pathways in the ambulatory setting.
- Teach medical students, residents, and fellows.
- Practice complex spine surgery, including open and minimally invasive techniques.
Requirements
- M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree.
- ABNS certification or eligibility.
- Post-graduate spine fellowship training.
Qualifications
Applicants must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree. Applicants must be ABNS certified or eligible. Training in a post-graduate spine fellowship is also required.
Skills
