About the role

As a new graduate in the production planning role, you will assist in planning, scheduling, and monitoring manufacturing status and approval of products through the entire production cycle to meet production and customer requirements. You will work from engineering plans and production specifications to ensure timely provision of materials. Additionally, you will advise management on the status of work in progress, coordinate with manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams, and interface with engineering, program management, and external customers.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement manufacturing build plans to meet customer contractual delivery schedules
  • Utilize Materials Requirement Planning (MRP) system to input Master Schedule build plans, track material availability, status kit readiness, release shop orders, and maintain all shop order records and inventory integrity
  • Update and maintain make items lead times within MRP system
  • Manage floor stock of program components
  • Work jointly with Manufacturing and Quality teams to execute build schedule and address any issues in a timely manner
  • Work with Materials Planners to proactively manage the schedule and material dock dates to ensure accuracy of planning
  • Provide hardware status, updates and performance statistics to program team based on status of hardware through Manufacturing Execution System (MES)
  • Ensure the availability of materials and labor to meet production needs and delivery commitments
  • Resolve labor and material shortages, backlogs, and other potential schedule interruptions

Requirements

  • Pursuing or recently completed (within the last 12 months) a bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration or related field

Pay

The salary range for this role in Virginia is $46,500 - $86,500. Final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.

Schedule

9/80: Employees work 9 out of every 14 days – totaling 80 hours worked, and have every other Friday off.
