Associate Producer, MS NOW Podcasts
About the role
MS NOW is looking for an Associate Producer to join our Podcast Unit. This role will work across multiple podcasts and projects, with a focus on news and politics. The AP’s primary roles will be to support the unit with a combination of administrative duties (such as organizing tape, booking studios, and maintaining calendars), and editorial roles (like fact checking, cutting tape, and researching). The AP will work closely with podcast Producers and Coordinating Producers on assignments, typically working under tight deadlines. The exact assignment(s) may change over time as unit needs evolve. The role will work across podcasts and projects within the unit, supporting a range of editorial and production needs. Responsibilities include pitching, booking, pulling tape, researching stories, editing tape and producing social clips. We also hope to loop this person into some development projects and task them with occasionally taking the lead in junior-level assignments. It’s an exciting early-career role for someone with editorial promise who has already mastered being a logistical powerhouse. The strongest candidates will have newsroom experience, as well as know how to edit audio and video. Adherence to journalistic best practices is a must.
