This role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, supporting Spirit’s Commercial Business Units. Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures, including fuselages, pylons, nacelles, and wing components, with a focus on innovative composite and aluminum manufacturing solutions. The Raw Material Commodity Purchasing Team procures both metallic and non-metallic materials through contracts with top-tier global suppliers.

Responsibilities

  • Synchronize supply chain for obtaining goods and services.
  • Interface with internal and external customers and suppliers to ensure quality parts are delivered on time and to the correct location.
  • Act as an authorized agent of the company, managing supplier-related activities and committing company resources through contracts, agreements, and purchase orders.
  • Develop requests for quotations and proposals, analyze supplier responses, negotiate and award contracts, and manage post-award supplier activities.
  • Manage inventory levels, purchase orders, and supplier performance.
  • Monitor customer inventory demand and material assets to optimize supply chain planning.
  • Incorporate planning decisions from customers and suppliers to reduce material and product variability and arrive at optimal solutions.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in a supply chain role, preferably within metallic or non-metallic raw materials, aerospace, or manufacturing industry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Teams, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, with any leadership level.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks.
  • Project management experience and skills.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and process-oriented mindset.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships, leveraging effective communication and influence to achieve desired business outcomes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent data analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge or experience in manufacturing, manufacturing materials, and processes.
  • Familiarity with MRP systems, preferably SAP.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field, or equivalent relevant work experience. An MBA is a plus.

Pay

Pay range: $54,550 – $83,650 (Level 2), based on candidate experience, qualifications, market, and business considerations.

This position must meet export control compliance requirements. A “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 (U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee) is required. This is a US-based job.
