Associate, Process Engineer

About the role

Alcon is dedicated to enhancing sight and improving global eye health through innovative engineering. This position is part of Alcon’s Engineering function, focused on improving quality, processes, products, packaging, and materials across the business. The Associate I, Manufacturing Production Process Engineering (Science/Tech/Engineering Path) is primarily responsible for designing, developing, and implementing efficient production processes for mass production, ensuring equipment layout efficiency, troubleshooting production issues, and guiding technical specifications.

Responsibilities

• Apply technical knowledge to perform tasks and support project goals effectively.
• Design, develop, and implement new or revised production processes for efficient mass production, including optimal equipment layout and production sequence.
• Specify procedures for tool and equipment fabrication and adapt machinery to factory conditions.
• Conduct tests throughout production stages to control variables and troubleshoot production problems.
• Provide guidance to product design engineering on technical specifications.
• Ensure production processes and procedures comply with Good Practice (GxP) regulations, follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), maintain accurate documentation, enforce rigorous quality control, and complete all required training.
• Follow procedures with decision‑making authority, meeting individual job requirements and contributing to organizational compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (or high school + 8 years; Associate’s + 4 years).
• Ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English.
