AI Fluency: Norm Ai expects all team members to be fluent in AI. Successful candidates actively use AI in their daily work to support thinking, creation, and problem-solving. They utilize AI to enhance the quality and speed of their work and continually refine how tasks are performed. Candidates must be prepared to demonstrate and discuss their AI usage throughout the interview process, including examples of tools, workflows, and outcomes. Practical, hands-on experience is preferred over theoretical knowledge.
This Role
As an Associate in the Private Equity group*, you will work on impactful deals while employing AI agents to streamline drafting, diligence, and execution processes. You will collaborate closely with partners, clients, and technology teams to deliver efficient, precise, and data-driven legal services. Our practice embraces the use of AI to minimize administrative burdens and boost your capacity for strategic legal judgment and client engagement.

In This Role
- Support Document Drafting & Review: Leverage AI agents to generate, compare, and redline offering memoranda, purchase agreements, board materials, disclosure documents, and regulatory filings.
- Due Diligence: Use AI tools to conduct rapid document reviews, identify key terms in documents, and generate client-facing memos of complex due diligence materials.
- Deal Execution: Integrate AI agents into workflow management, signing and closing checklists, and coordination with counterparties.
- Client Advisory: Partner with clients to illustrate how AI-assisted workflows enhance accuracy, transparency, and deal velocity.
- Collaboration with Tech: Work closely with the technology teams to further optimize the deal process using AI.
Skills & Experience
- Juris Doctor (JD); active bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
- 3-6 years of experience in private equity transactions.
- Strong drafting and communication skills; meticulous attention to detail.
- Interest in applying technology to enhance traditional deal workflows.
- No prior AI or technical experience required.
What Success Looks Like
- 30 Days: Learn firm AI platforms; begin supporting deal teams using AI-enabled review and drafting.
- 60 Days: Independently manage discrete components of deals with AI support.
- 90 Days: Lead AI-augmented workstreams in live transactions, improving efficiency and accuracy in document management and closing processes.
Comp & Benefits
$270,000 - $410,000: The range displayed in this job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salary for this position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including job-related skills (as uncovered during the interview process), experience, and relevant education or training. Please note that the compensation details listed here reflect the base salary only. Our comprehensive benefits package includes a 401(k) plan with an employer match.
