Associate - Prepared Foods

About the role

At Joseph’s Classic Market, we offer more than just groceries; we provide an alternative to dining out with our Chef-Prepared meals. The Prepared Foods Department is the heart of our stores, focusing on creating convenient, high-quality dining experiences.

Responsibilities

• Offer product knowledge and make personalized suggestions
• Maintain product freshness through regular rotation and quality checks
• Restock and rotate displays to ensure visual appeal and freshness
• Prepare salads and pack out soups, pastas, sauces, and other prepared foods
• P plate, package, and present items to meet Joseph’s quality and appearance standards
• Accurately package, label, and price self-service items
• Follow food safety and sanitation protocols at all times
• Operate basic counter equipment, including scales, knives, and other counter equipment
• Assist with other tasks as assigned

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Prior kitchen or food preparation experience preferred
• Basic math and reading skills
• Strong attention to detail and visual presentation
• Team player with a positive, service-oriented attitude
• A passion for serving people

Physical & Work Environment

• Primarily works within the Prepared Foods department
• Involved in walking and standing for extended periods
• Lifts products weighing up to 50 pounds
• Frequent interaction with customers and fellow team members
• Works in a fast-paced, food-focused environment
