Associate Payroll Administrator

Duties

  • Aid in payroll processing tasks during each semi-monthly pay cycle and ensure deadlines are met, collaborating with internal departments to resolve outstanding issues promptly.
  • Manage payroll processes, including verifying system prorations, calculating retro pay for mid-period new hires, terminations, promotions, demotions, and leave of absence.
  • Provide exceptional customer service when addressing employee questions about payroll issues and serve as the initial point of contact; research and solve inquiries.
  • Be cross-trained on all critical payroll operational tasks necessary for settlement.
  • Initial review and logging of incoming information requests, such as garnishment documents for child support, tax levies, creditor levies, wage and employment verification inquiries, among others.
  • Assist in maintaining the documentation flow for payroll updates/changes and audit procedures as needed to keep information up to date.
  • Contribute to special projects and other duties as directed.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate
  • 0 to 2 years of work experience in Payroll
  • General knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, and internal controls
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Entry-level Excel experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Ability to produce clear and concise written analyses to stakeholders
  • Proactive, confident self-starter with the ability to adapt quickly to shifting priorities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Maintain employee confidentiality and protect payroll operations
  • Experience in Workday is a plus

Physical Demands

Must be able to comprehend and carry out job demands. Job requires a substantial amount of sitting. Telephone and computer for prolonged periods. Sitting for prolonged periods.
