About the role

The Patient Care Assistant (PCA) provides direct patient care and supportive services under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN).

Responsibilities

• Assists in delivering safe, effective, patient-centered care
• Aids in maintaining a clean, orderly environment
• Demonstrates service excellence behaviors to promote patient and family satisfaction

Qualifications

• Age of Patients Served: All Age Groups
• Necessary Skills: Demonstrates teamwork and communicates in a professional manner with all of the healthcare team.
• Demonstrates the ability to learn and apply all hospital computer technologies and procedures that affect patient care delivery.
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology and standard precautions, ability to read/write in English, etc.
• Licensure/Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification, Crisis Prevention Institute training within 90 days of hire or transfer and then annually is required for the Psychiatric unit only.
