Associate or Professor of Education - Leadership

About the role

The LaFetra College of Education at the University of La Verne invites applications for a full-time, tenure track faculty position at the rank of associate/full professor to begin in the 2023-24 academic year within the Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership Program (Ed.D.).

Responsibilities

• Teach graduate/postgraduate level leadership courses, including face-to-face and online/blended formats.
• Conduct research and publish in the field of leadership.
• Advise doctoral students on their research projects.
• Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the program's curriculum and pedagogy.
• Participate in departmental, college, and university committees and initiatives.

Requirements

• Doctorate (Ph.D. or Ed.D.) with an emphasis in leadership or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution.
• Significant leadership experience in P-12 education, preferably at the cabinet level.
• Depth and breadth of knowledge of pertinent theories and practices relative to leadership program content.
• Evidence as the instructor of record successfully teaching graduate/postgraduate level leadership courses.
• Evidence as the instructor of record successfully using technology and teaching graduate/postgraduate level online/blended courses.
• Effective interpersonal skills – able to work with diverse, adult populations in academic and professional working relationships.
• Record of scholarship and research in the discipline.
• Lived or relocated to within 90 minutes driving distance to the main campus (required).
• Documented experience working with a diverse student population and working knowledge of social justice and culturally responsive classrooms.
