About the role

The Department of Radiology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for several Associate or Full Professor positions in the non-tenure academic clinician track.

Responsibilities

  • Specialty certification in nuclear medicine, either current American Board of Nuclear Medicine certification or a CAQ in nuclear radiology from the American Board of Radiology
  • Completion of a nuclear medicine or nuclear radiology ACGME-approved training program
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience
  • Teaching responsibilities may include providing daily clinical nuclear medicine services, supervising and teaching residents and fellows during procedures and conferences, and participating in interdisciplinary conferences with clinical sub-specialties
  • Lecture at assigned resident didactic conferences and nuclear radiology fellow lecture series
  • Attendance and teaching at case conferences, as well as participation in journal club meetings
  • Limited teaching of medical students rotating through the Department of Radiology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, and Pennsylvania Hospital
  • Serve in a clinical administration leadership role within the Nuclear Medicine Imaging and Therapy Division
  • Provide clinical services for the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, Pennsylvania Hospital, and the Philadelphia Veterans Affairs Medical Center, as well as affiliated outpatient imaging centers located in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware

Requirements

Applicants must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree.

Qualifications

An ability to lead clinical excellence is an integral feature of the Academic Clinician track. Clinical responsibilities may include performing and interpreting nuclear medicine stress tests and EKGs, as well as evaluating and treating patients with therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals and general nuclear medicine studies.
