Associate Media Director
Location: New York City. Candidates must currently live in or be willing to relocate to NYC within the first 60 days of employment.
About the role
The Associate Media Director role is both managerial and tactical. You will help identify and understand the vision of the Media Director and bring it to life by communicating and overseeing the work of the Planner and Associate Planner. This position requires a strong background in digital marketing and media, comfort with data, analytics, and measurement, and the ability to educate team members on new processes and tools.
In a rapidly evolving media landscape, you will collaborate across disciplines—Media, Creative, Analytics, Strategy, Production, Audience Development, and Partnerships—to ensure the planning team operates seamlessly within the agency structure. You will work alongside investment, digital, creative, data, and measurement teams to deliver consistent, client-desired outputs.
We seek an Associate Media Director who is vocal in expressing thoughts and opinions, advocates for agency principles, owns projects from start to finish, and serves as a direct client liaison.
Responsibilities
- Drive the successful selling of media strategies, plans, and partnerships to clients.
- Own campaigns and programs from beginning to end, ensuring seamless execution.
- Leverage data to provide persuasive, insight-driven perspectives and defend strategic thinking.
- Identify actionable insights and support strategic recommendations with data.
- Collaborate across disciplines in a converged full-service agency model to solve client business challenges.
- Stay current on the automotive industry and Nissan’s initiatives.
Requirements
- 5+ years of media planning experience within an advertising agency or media environment, with expertise across digital, traditional, and integrated media channels.
- Strong strategic planning capabilities, including development of audience-driven, full-funnel media strategies aligned with client business objectives.
- Proven ability to lead annual planning, budget allocation, forecasting, and media investment recommendations across multiple clients and campaigns.
- Deep understanding of cross-channel media planning, including Linear TV, CTV/OTT, Video, Social, Search, Programmatic, Audio, and Emerging Media.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate audience, research, and performance data into actionable strategic recommendations.
- Experience utilizing media research and planning tools such as Nielsen, GWI, Comscore, Pathmatics, Simmons, MRI, or similar platforms.
- Demonstrated success managing senior-level client relationships, presenting recommendations, and influencing business decisions.
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to mentor and develop planning teams while fostering cross-functional collaboration.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and storytelling skills with the ability to simplify complex data and strategic concepts.
Pay
The annual salary range for this role is $80,000 – $115,000, depending on geographic location and experience. Additional compensation includes relocation costs, if applicable.

Schedule
Omnicom policy requires employees to work in the office a minimum of three days per week, with potential for additional in-office days as directed by the agency or manager.
