Position Summary
Our Reno team at Light & Wonder develops games for the specialty markets. We design and develop custom content for our Central Determination, Class II, Historical Horse Racing, and Class III markets. These markets are located across the United States and Canada. We are looking for a creative and passionate Associate Mathematician to design and proof math models for our gaming products and to work closely with game designers, producers, engineers, and graphic and sound artists.
Essential Job Functions
- Work with game designers and mathematicians to develop proof of concept and feasible math models.
- Develop and generate math models that demonstrate gaming probabilities and mathematical return of games via theoretical calculation and/or simulation.
- Participate and contribute in the game design and invention process.
- Work with engineers to ensure correct implementation of math models.
- Deliver high-quality work as scheduled in accordance with the game design and product requirements.
- Provide computer simulation and analysis of existing and new math models.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics/Statistics or Computer Science preferred. Bachelor’s degree in EE or Physics or other scientific fields with a strong mathematical background considered.
- Experience: 1-2 years of working knowledge in the areas of applied mathematics, probability, or combinatorics. 1-2 years of experience with C++, C#, Python or similar object-oriented programming language. Experience in Microsoft Excel and Visual Studio a plus.
