Associate Market General Manager
About the Role
We’re changing lives every day—for both our patients and our team members. The Associate Market General Manager directs and administers the day-to-day operations of multiple medical centers. This role is responsible for the overall performance of operational, economical, and people-related center-level goals. You will lead the operational and administrative aspects of the market, partnering closely with clinical leadership to ensure patient care, service, and clinical metrics meet or exceed expectations. As a servant leader, you will guide multiple teams to grow the business and own a profit and loss budget at each center.
Responsibilities
- Owns and operates an average annual budget of over $50M for multiple medical centers, staffing up to 150 employees and servicing up to 10,000 patients per year.
- Designs, develops, and implements strategies for operational excellence and growth within the centers.
- Ensures all goals related to patient experience are met or exceeded.
- Partners with market leaders to execute business plans and meet growth and financial objectives.
- Responsible for training and development of center leaders, ensuring continuous coaching for future upward mobility.
- Provides management support in overseeing high-quality, cost-effective, and VIP service for clinical outcomes.
- Manages execution of key operational outcomes to meet customer, provider, and regulatory expectations.
- Coordinates with various Centers of Excellence (COEs) to ensure appropriate resources are available.
- Oversees communications and ownership of key scorecard measurements and total quality initiatives.
- Mentors, coaches, and develops operational teams to match business needs.
- Aids in customer resolution and educates management on appropriate responses for escalated issues.
- Leads growth strategy for each center, focusing on disenrollment and team inspiration.
- Works comfortably with financial statements and concepts in a service organization.
- Monitors office communication and performance to ensure efficiency and customer focus.
- Collaborates with center leaders to conduct performance evaluations and disciplinary actions.
- Ensures proper patient flow from check-in through check-out, monitoring wait times.
- Ensures accuracy of all incoming and outgoing information, including supplies, invoices, billing, and patient records.
- Develops strategies to increase and retain membership.
- Applies frugality and creativity to problem-solving for operational challenges.
- Collaborates with leaders on strategic business planning.
- Demonstrates ownership, driving center success across people, finance, service, growth, and outcomes.
- Maintains awareness of the competitive healthcare environment and ensures service exceeds other providers.
- Works with clinical providers to schedule patient meetings and draft correspondence.
- Reviews reports to ensure target metrics are achieved and processes are followed.
- Conducts walk-throughs of centers to ensure a clean and safe environment, including checks for expired medications and proper waste disposal.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Highly developed business acumen and relationship management/building skills.
- Advanced knowledge of business and management principles, including strategic planning, resource allocation, and leadership techniques.
- Experience managing an entity with annual revenue equal to or exceeding $40M.
- Superior knowledge of customer service principles, including needs assessment and satisfaction evaluation.
- Knowledge and implementation of regulatory requirements and laws governing clinic activities.
- Proven ability to drive revenue growth and control expenses.
- Ability to leverage business and organizational knowledge across functions.
- Skilled in negotiating and influencing executives and leaders at all levels.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and management skills, including handling multiple projects and tight deadlines.
- Keen understanding of business controls and operations.
- High degree of emotional intelligence, integrity, and a driven work ethic.
- Passion for serving others with VIP experiences and ability to engage naturally with others.
- Self-starter with creative thinking and effective work habits.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other related software.
- Ability and willingness to travel locally, regionally, and nationwide up to 50% of the time.
- Spoken and written fluency in English.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Healthcare or Public Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field required. Additional experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.
- MBA or master's degree in healthcare, public administration, or a related discipline preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years’ healthcare administration, budget management, finance, or closely related industry experience required.
- A minimum of 2 years of direct management/leadership experience within a customer/client service environment required.
- Experience managing a diverse group of functional area professionals strongly preferred.
- Experience managing and overseeing a multi-million-dollar P&L account highly desired.
Pay
The pay range for this position is $166,652 - $238,075 annually. Final compensation will depend on experience, education, geographic location, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for bonuses or commissions.
