About the Role

We are seeking an Associate Manufacturing Technician to perform mechanical assembly, disassembly, and installation tasks associated with manufacturing power transformers.
Responsibilities
- Perform manufacturing tasks such as loading and unloading machinery and operating non-CNC equipment (e.g., gluing, clamping, painting, coating, testing, and oil filling equipment)
- Assemble and disassemble parts or units; position, align, and fasten assemblies using hand and power tools per specifications
- Measure and adjust parts using instruments like scales, calipers, and micrometers
- Inspect, verify, and document quality criteria to ensure units meet specifications and customer requirements
- Connect, crimp, solder, and braze internal leads and wiring using pneumatic tools and brazing equipment
- Wrap, tape, or insulate leads and wires according to work instructions
- Perform basic electrical tests to confirm proper wiring and insulation
- Follow prints, bills of material, and work instructions to determine proper components for assembly
- Disassemble units for part replacement or shipping
- Fabricate wooden parts, fixtures, and packaging for unit delivery
- Operate equipment for vacuuming, oil filling, and recovery
- Clean and lubricate parts and subassemblies
- Safely handle, move, and store materials
- Follow standard work procedures and 6S principles to meet safety, quality, and productivity standards
- Operate material handling equipment (e.g., cranes, forklifts, scissor lifts)
- Assist in other manufacturing areas and support supervisors as needed
- Understand and adhere to Hyosung HICO policies, including Safety, Quality, and Environmental Policies
Additional Duties
- Perform basic preventative maintenance and TPM on equipment
- Assist with completing process check sheets
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Two-year Associate’s Degree in electrical or related technical field + 1 year experience in testing/utilities, or equivalent education/experience
- Multiple years’ experience as an electrician or service technician (high voltage/utility industry preferred)
- Developed written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in math and electrical engineering concepts
- Experience using inspection tools, instruments, and equipment
- Basic computer skills for data entry and retrieval
Physical Requirements
- Ability to read and understand mechanical/electrical drawings
- Stand/walk 6-8 hours per day
- Sit, squat, bend, stretch, and kneel frequently
- Work in confined spaces and climb/stand on ladders
- Lift up to 35 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Use basic hand and power tools
- Perform repetitive movements
- Maintain a safe work environment
