About the Role
The Associate Manager, Social Media will manage ghd North America's organic social media presence, with a primary focus on Instagram and TikTok. This role is responsible for content planning, publishing, community engagement, social-first storytelling, and performance reporting that brings product innovation, campaigns, creator content, and cultural moments to life.
Partnering closely with the Consumer Engagement Lead, this individual will help translate brand, PR, influencer, retail, and product launch priorities into engaging content and community experiences that strengthen brand relevance, awareness, and consumer connection.
Key Responsibilities
- Social Strategy & Planning
- Develops and executes ghd's organic social strategy across Instagram, TikTok, and emerging platforms.
- Manages the social content calendar, ensuring a consistent cadence across launches, campaigns, creator content, retail moments, and cultural trends.
- Monitors platform updates, social trends, and competitive activity, and provides recommendations to enhance performance and engagement.
- Maintains alignment between social content and broader brand and business priorities.
- Creative Direction & Content Strategy
- Develops and executes social-first content across Reels, TikTok, Stories, and Feed formats.
- Partners with internal teams, agencies, creators, and stylists to deliver engaging, platform-native content.
- Identifies opportunities to amplify product innovation, education, creator partnerships, and brand storytelling through social channels.
- Captures real-time content from events, launches, and activations as needed.
- Community Management & Brand Engagement
- Manages day-to-day community engagement, including comments, DMs, and audience interactions.
- Maintains a consistent brand voice that is premium, approachable, and culturally relevant.
- Identifies and amplifies user-generated content, creator partnerships, stylist work, and cultural moments that support brand visibility.
- Fosters an engaged social community that strengthens consumer connection and advocacy.
- Cross-Functional & Agency Collaboration
- Acts as key partner with Marketing, PR, Influencer, Retail, Education, DTC, and agency partners on social initiatives.
- Manages social content requests, priorities, and timelines across stakeholders.
- Briefs agencies, creators, and freelancers on content needs, creative direction, and campaign objectives.
- Collaborates with Influencer Marketing to integrate creator content, organic advocacy, and UGC into the broader social content ecosystem.
- Performance & Insights
- Monitors key social KPIs, including engagement, reach, follower growth, video views, and content performance.
- Builds regular reporting that translates channel performance into clear insights, optimizations, and recommendations for the Consumer Engagement marketing team.
- Leverages data, audience signals, community feedback, and cultural observation insights to optimize content strategy and inform broader brand, launch, influencer, and retail decisions.
- Partners with Paid Media and DTC teams to identify content opportunities for amplification and broader marketing use.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field plus 4+ years of social media experience within beauty, fashion, lifestyle, luxury, or consumer brand, with previous experience in platform-native content and measurable growth or engagement impact OR 6+ years of relevant experience of social media experience within beauty, fashion, lifestyle, luxury, or consumer brand, with previous experience in platform-native content and measurable growth or engagement impact in lieu of a degree
- Strong fluency in TikTok and Instagram, including formats, algorithms, community behaviors, trends, creator culture, and performance signals.
- Excellent copywriting skills and a clear instinct for tone of voice, brand personality, and social storytelling.
- A strong eye for content, design, pacing, editing, creator fit, and what makes beauty content feel premium but not overly produced.
- Experience managing content calendars, workflows, agencies, and creator partnerships while balancing multiple initiatives
- Proficiency with social analytics tools and creative tools such as Dash Hudson/Dash Social, CreatorIQ, Canva, Figma, CapCut, Sprout Social, TikTok Creative Center or similar platforms.
- Ability to shoot, edit, or guide agile content when speed matters is a strong plus.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills; detail-oriented, solutions-driven, and organized.
- Ability to multi-task, work on multiple projects at once, and manage timelines in a fast-paced environment.
- Passion for beauty, hair, creators, fashion, culture, and social media storytelling.

Pay
75,000 – 95,000 salary per year plus bonus.
