About the role
The Associate Manager will oversee the accounting and financial reporting obligations of a portfolio of alternative-asset structures. The role includes team leadership, mentoring, and delivering high-quality services to clients while ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Day-to-day management of a team of professionals to ensure on-time, high-quality client deliverables per SLAs, policies, and procedures.
- Plan, coordinate, and complete NAVs, management reporting, and statutory reporting for assigned structures.
- Review bookkeeping, monthly/quarterly/annual NAVs, management accounts, interim and annual statutory financial statements.
- Manage specialized services teams on financial reporting, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and contractual obligations.
- Prepare and present reports, KPIs, and dashboards for management.
- Monitor, delegate, and ensure timely completion of all day-to-day tasks.
- Identify and escalate risks, issues, and complaints promptly.
- Ensure reporting complies with entity and statutory requirements, including IFRS, US GAAP, UK GAAP, Luxembourg GAAP, Irish GAAP, and other relevant standards.
- Support the implementation of new processes and automation initiatives.
- Provide technical guidance, coaching, and mentoring to team members.
- Conduct staff appraisals and implement engagement initiatives.
- Stay current with financial reporting developments and deliver training/workshops to the team.
- Perform additional duties to support the strategic development of the team.
Requirements
- Degree in Accounting and/or Finance; or fully qualified ACCA.
- 8+ years of relevant experience, preferably in accountancy with IFRS knowledge.
Skills
- Strong technical expertise in drafting and reviewing management accounts and financial statements under IFRS and other GAAPs.
- Up-to-date knowledge of IFRS and other GAAP developments.
- Understanding of regulatory and financial reporting regimes.
- Advanced Excel and data analytical skills; ability to manipulate large datasets and create dashboards/reports.
- Proven leadership and people-management skills, including recruiting and performance evaluation.
- Experience with accounting software, databases, and IT platforms.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
- Client-focused mindset with commercial awareness.
