Associate Lecturer/Lecturer/Senior Lecturer – College of Letters and Science / School of Humanities and Global Studies / Department of English (Continuous Recruitment)
This is a continuous recruitment posting for part-time associate lecturer/lecturer/senior lecturer positions in the Department of English. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis to build a pool of candidates for future openings. Teaching assignments are made on a per-course, per-semester basis and do not guarantee future assignments. Teaching load varies between 1-12 credits per semester. While primarily on-site, partially remote opportunities may be available.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the initial point of contact for students regarding course content and expectations
- Facilitate classroom, online, and/or laboratory instruction for one or more courses
- Assess student performance
- Develop instructional design and curriculum relevant to assigned courses
About the Department
The English Department at UW-Stevens Point is one of the largest academic units on campus, with 17 faculty members offering courses ranging from first-year composition and humanities general education to upper-division literature, writing, and teacher education. The department prioritizes teaching while also engaging in scholarly and creative projects. It houses Cornerstone Press, one of the few undergraduate student-staffed publishing houses in the United States.
Qualifications
- Required:
- M.A. in English
- Experience teaching English composition courses
- Preferred:
- Ph.D. in English
