BakerHostetler is seeking a junior- to mid-level Associate (2-5 years of experience) to join its Labor and Employment Group. The candidate would work with our regional and national clients as a member of the Employment/Wage & Hour Class Action team. Qualifications Include Experience defending employers in federal and state courts and before administrative agencies, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Department of Labor, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, and their state law equivalents Experience in counseling employers on various employment-related issues, including discrimination claims, leave entitlement, wage and hour issues, hiring, terminations, discipline, employment-related medical leaves, handbook policies and procedures, employment agreements, and other matters affecting the employment relationship Experience handling multiple facets of state and federal court litigation, including responding to complaints, drafting and responding to discovery, e-discovery and the production of documents, preparing dispositive and other motions, and drafting position statements Experience with wage and hour collective actions and class action litigation Experience in taking and defending depositions AmLaw 100 law firm experience is a plus A strong academic record, having earned a J.D. from a nationally recognized and accredited school Must be admitted to practice law in Colorado or waive admission to the Colorado Bar Ideal Candidates Will Have Demonstrated The Following Attributes Exceptional project management skills Effective and detail-oriented writing and oral communication skills; law review or other comparable experience indicating significant research and writing skills a plus Ability to manage a fast-paced workload while maintaining priorities and anticipating issues The professional commitment and interpersonal skills necessary to succeed in a collaborative cross-office team environment Why BakerHostetler? Salary The expected annual salary range for this position $215,000 - $235,000. The salary offered will be determined by a wide range of factors, including, but not limited to, experience level, education/training, and relevant skills. Associates also participate in a performance- and hours-based bonus program.
