Wells Fargo is seeking experienced Associates to join our Leveraged Finance team as part of our Corporate & Investment Banking Group. Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB) delivers a comprehensive suite of banking, capital markets, and advisory solutions—including sales, trading, and research capabilities—to corporate, government, and institutional clients. We focus on clients' overall financial needs, considering their total relationship with Wells Fargo.

About the role

In this role, you will:

  • Pitch and execute debt transactions in Syndicated Bank, Institutional Loan, and High Yield Debt Capital Markets
  • Engage in Best Efforts transactions as well as Corporate and Sponsor Underwriting activities for event-driven transactions
  • Analyze companies and their capital structure
  • Make recommendations to clients
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements within the Investment Banking Program
  • Review and analyze market data, valuation analyses, models, and presentations requiring research, evaluation, selection of alternatives, and independent judgment to guide deliverables
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
  • Interact with internal and external customers

Requirements

  • 2+ years of Investment Banking Program experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of Leveraged Finance or Corporate Banking experience
  • Strong financial modeling skills
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work effectively independently, as well as in a team environment
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree with academic distinction and coursework in financial accounting and corporate finance; MBA or CFA a plus
  • Willingness to work long hours in a demanding, highly focused, collaborative, and fast-paced team environment with a sense of personal accountability and urgency for achieving results

Job Expectations

  • Willingness to work on-site in accordance with current office requirements
  • Registration for FINRA Series 63 must be completed within 90 days of hire date if not available for transfer upon hire
  • Registration for FINRA Series 79 must be completed within 90 days of hire date if not available for transfer upon hire
  • Registration for Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam must be completed within 90 days of hire date if not available for transfer upon hire
  • This position is subject to FINRA background screening requirements; candidates must successfully complete and pass a background check prior to hire
  • In accordance with FINRA rules, individuals subject to statutory disqualification are not eligible to be associated with a FINRA-registered broker-dealer
  • Successful candidates must meet and comply with ongoing regulatory obligations, including periodic screening and mandatory reporting of certain incidents
  • Specific compliance policies may apply regarding outside activities or personal investing; affected employees will be expected to provide information to the Wells Fargo Personal Account Dealing Team and abide by applicable policy requirements

Posting locations: Charlotte, North Carolina (550 S Tryon St) and New York, New York (500 West 33rd St).

Pay

New York City base pay range: $175,000 – $225,000. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities. Overall range: $150,000 – $250,000.
