About the role

Stout is seeking an experienced Associate to join its Investment Banking team, focusing on Business Services. This role involves executing middle-market transactions such as mergers and acquisitions (M&A), capital raising, ESOPs, and special situations. The Associate will contribute to the firm's M&A and Capital Markets advisory work by collaborating with senior bankers, supporting client coverage and business development, and managing key aspects of the deal process.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with senior bankers to drive business development efforts, including client coverage, prospecting, program management, and transaction execution.
  • Lead the evaluation, origination, and execution of deals across diverse assignments, with a focus on the defense and government services markets.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, primarily through the delivery of high-quality transaction execution and advisory services.
  • Oversee all phases of transaction execution, including coordinating internal teams, engaging stakeholders, and shaping advisory strategies and product solutions.
  • Mentor and manage junior team members (analysts, and interns) to ensure timely delivery of high-quality engagement deliverables.
  • Manage advanced financial modeling, pitch materials, and deal processes while maintaining clear and effective client communication.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of overall professional experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field required.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and other Office applications.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • A positive, team-oriented mindset.
  • Strong sense of accountability and dependability.

Pay

The estimated annual salary range for this role is $145,000 - $175,000, subject to individual performance and qualifications.

Schedule

This role is anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
