About the role
As an Associate II, Research & Development Process & Product Design supporting our Research & Development team, you will be trusted to work on innovative product design, scientific analysis, and research-driven development activities onsite at our Johns Creek, Georgia facility.
Responsibilities
- Conducting process development and scale-up studies to support new medical device product development
- Developing hypotheses to explain observations and data based on scientific and engineering principles
- Testing the predictions deduced from hypotheses that challenge explanations
- Drawing conclusions and actionable next steps to further process knowledge
- Designing and executing engineering studies (lab and pilot scale) to understand process behavior using data-driven approaches (Y = f(x))
- Performing statistical analysis to identify sources of variation, improve yields, reduce defects, and define process specifications
- Supporting process validation, simulation modeling, and literature reviews to improve product and process design
- Documenting study designs, results, and process knowledge, and communicating findings to cross-functional R&D teams in compliance with GxP standards
- Documenting research findings clearly for regulatory, quality, and technical stakeholders in compliance with GxP standards
- Collaborating cross-functionally within R&D to contribute to innovation and continuous product improvement
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +8 yrs; Assoc.+4 yrs)
- The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English

Preferred Background
- Physics or Chemistry
- Demonstrated ability to develop hypotheses based on scientific or engineering principles and validate them through structured experimentation
- Strong intellectual curiosity with a proactive, investigative mindset inclined to ask questions, explore root causes, and deepen process understanding
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to present findings clearly across cross-functional teams
- Experience in FDA regulated industry, specifically medical devices or contact lenses
- Experience in statistical analysis using JMP or Minitab and / or Lean Six Sigma
- Experience writing, executing and analyzing Engineering Studies
