Associate Guidance Navigation & Control Engineer

About the Role

Boeing Defense, Space & Security’s Air Dominance division is hiring Associate Guidance Navigation and Control (GNC) Engineers in Hazelwood, MO. These roles support new product design, development, integration, and flight test for the expanding Air Dominance Portfolio, including F-15, F/A-18, MQ-25, T-7A, and new proprietary air dominance programs.

Responsibilities

• Assist in defining Guidance, Navigation, and Control mission requirements and ensure traceability and quality from system to component level.
• Use multidisciplinary model data (aero, mass properties, propulsion, etc.) to develop and refine a complex, nonlinear, 6 degrees of freedom simulation model.
• Develop, implement, integrate, and test vehicle models and controllers using software languages such as C, C++, FORTRAN, and Python.
• Support the design of flight control laws using modern linear control design techniques and tools to achieve performance targets.
• Perform advanced nonlinear analysis to assess and refine control law design.
• Validate models against test data to improve simulation accuracy.
• Develop supplementary controllers, limiters, mode logic, and signal shaping to bound performance within the flight envelope.
• Collaborate with flight simulation and Vehicle Management Systems (VMS) software engineers to incorporate control laws into operational flight programs.
• Support flight simulations, hardware-in-the-loop development, and flight testing planning/execution.
• Participate in design reviews, analyses, simulations, and component/system testing to meet customer requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or related field.
• 2+ years of work-related experience with a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of experience and technical education.
• Experience with Guidance Navigation & Control engineering.
• Proficiency in Matlab/Simulink or MatrixX for system modeling.

Preferred Qualifications

• Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance or higher.
• Experience with simulation, system, and component modeling.
• Experience implementing algorithms in real-time systems.
• Hardware-in-the-Loop Simulator (HILS) experience.
• Prior flight test support experience.

Pay

Summary pay range: $93,500 - $126,500. Pay is based on candidate experience, qualifications, market, and business considerations.

Relocation: Offered based on eligibility.
Security Clearance: Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Clearance required.
Shift: 1st shift.
