Associate General Counsel - Medicaid

Join HCSC and be part of a purpose-driven company that will invest in your professional development. This is an opportunity for a motivated lawyer to provide legal support to HCSC’s legal team and other internal business partners supporting HCSC Medicaid managed care/CHIP programs.
Responsibilities
- Provide sound, actionable legal advice on regulatory and operational matters involving state Medicaid/CHIP program issues, and other state and federal healthcare regulatory issues.
- Serve as a partner to our business leaders in developing adaptive strategies to support HCSC’s established business and to further its growth while continually advancing HCSC’s goal of expanding access to quality, cost-effective health care.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor Degree and a license to practice law in the state where the position is located.
- 8 years’ experience as an attorney with demonstrated understanding/experience of the health care or insurance field.
- Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.
- Negotiation and diplomacy skills.
Preferred Job Requirements
- Knowledge or understanding of the health care, health insurance, or claim administration field.
- 5+ years’ experience with state Medicaid/CHIP program issues, such as policies, regulations, and guidance issued by state Medicaid agencies and/or CMS, state and federal legislative and regulatory activity related to Medicaid/CHIP, Medicaid/CHIP managed care delivery systems, contracting, payment integrity, coverage issues, member grievances, reimbursement, or models/demonstration projects under section 1115 of the Social Security Act.
- Strong business collaboration and writing skills, including the ability to clearly provide legal counsel and solutions to complex issues.
Pay
$146,700.00 - $272,400.00 Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location
Schedule
This requires in-office hours 3 days a week at the respective office location.
